Today was a little hectic but the day went by quick, I came in @ 5:56 am and there I saw my 2 trainees, I'm training 2 nurses right now, newly grads. Yeah it gets hard when they're not on the same level of learned things, at the same time i have a POD to take care of and also I'm in charge for the whole clinic today (26 chairs clinic). Sounds overwhelming? yeah it can be especially when I have 2 LPNs in the clinic. My day wasn't my worst day it was actually better than some other days. I just hate when people call out sick especially when we only have enough staff and nobody wants to come in for that person.
I love my job right now, I love the patients and my co workers tho sometimes we annoy each other at the end of the day we go back to normal and don't take it personally.
Whenever I accept responsibilities at work I just think of it as a challenge, I never believed in myself when I was still in nursing school so when somebody believes that I can do it and is actually giving me an important task it's just hard for me to say know even if sometimes i get too overwhelmed. Training people? my first day of training somebody i can feel my hands shaking while I'm putting needles on the patient I feel like I'm the one being tested. I just hate being watched I feel like when somebody's watching me I'm going to mess up.
Anyway after a couple of days I got used to it, like I got used to being in charge. Never thought I can do it before, but with the help of our clinical coordinator i was able to do it. Without her in the clinic and My boss who was my preceptor before I think I wouldn't be able to manage all this.
Oh well Tomorrow is another day, Today I'm thankful of all the challenges and for this Job that I actually enjoy doing. :) <3
